The School of Business invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Business Administration to start August 2018.

Responsibilities:  Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses primarily in the areas of strategic management and organizational behavior.  A normal teaching load is 9 credit hours per semester.   Scholarly activity and output appropriate to rank is expected consistent with the teacher-scholar model.  Additional duties (after the first year) include advising; mentoring of students in research and other experiences; and service to the university and community.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D., or D.B.A. or equivalent doctoral level degree(s) in Business Administration (strategic management and organizational behavior) at the time of appointment (ABD considered with an expected completion date within one calendar year beginning at appointment).

Rank and Salary: Rank depends on qualifications.  Salary and tenure-track status will be negotiated according to experience and qualifications. Promotion to or appointment as an Associate Professor is normally based on: six years at rank of Assistant Professor, record of effective instruction; sustained record of scholarly production; history of meaningful service.  Truman offers an attractive benefits package including life, health, and disability insurance, retirement contributions, and stipend for moving expenses.

The Program:  Housed in modern facilities, the School of Business is one of only 186 institutions that maintain accreditation from AACSB-International for both the School of Business and the Accounting Department. The School enrolls approximately 840 majors in undergraduate (B.S., B.A.) and graduate (Master of Accountancy) programs. Academically talented students from around the region make up the student body. Graduates are recruited by well-known organizations and are admitted to high-quality graduate schools.  Students routinely score at or above the 95th percentile on a nationally standardized business exam.  Accounting students consistently place in the top tier in the nation for first-time CPA pass rates.  The School is committed to the integration of professional curricula within the framework of a liberal arts education.  High priority is placed on instructional excellence, collegiality, and a commitment to student learning.
