Non-Tenure Track Instructor of Accounting Position

Financial/Managerial Accounting

 The School of Business invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in Accounting to start August 2019. 

Responsibilities:  Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses primarily in the areas of financial and managerial accounting at the introductory and advanced undergraduate level. Additional teaching responsibilities may include a course that teaches Excel skills.  Sustained professional engagement activity and output appropriate to rank that is consistent with the teacher-scholar model is expected.  Additional duties (after the first year) include advising and service to the university and community.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in accounting with significant work experience.  Significant business experience at the senior executive level that provides intellectual capital that is reasonably comparable to that received from a master’s degree may substitute for the educational requirement.

Rank and Salary: Instructor of Accounting.

If hired, applicants must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States, official graduate transcripts, or documentation of degrees if transcripts are not available.  Final candidates will be expected to undergo and successfully pass a background check.

Candidates Evaluated On:  Evidence and/or demonstrated potential for teaching effectiveness in accounting; ability to teach other courses in the department; ability to teach Excel skills, professional certifications (for example CPA, CMA, or CIA); strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills; a commitment to the liberal arts and sciences as a teacher-scholar, with student development and accomplishment as the highest priority; and additional relevant education or industry experience.
