Responsibilities

Residence Hall Directors provide leadership and oversight for on-campus residential areas of 300 to 600 students.  Duties include management of in-hall student resources; supervising and coordinating hall personnel including student advisors, hall office, hall desk, and night monitor staff; designing and implementing educational and social events; administering judicial cases; responding to emergency situations; promoting strong relationships among hall staff and other University constituencies; supporting a strengths based approach to development; promoting student learning and development in all job responsibilities; and other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Required qualifications include an earned Bachelor’s degree; residence hall and/or student leadership/services experience; demonstrated communication skills; the ability to work well with diverse populations and personalities; and a commitment to student learning and development.

 

Preferred qualifications include experience as a team player; experience as a team builder; mediation or other interpersonal communication experience; presentation skills; and/or demonstrated leadership/supervisory success.
