Role:   The Annual Fund Officer reports to the Director of Engagement and assists in planning and implementing programs designed to broaden the base of annual donors to the University. The overarching goal of the Annual Giving Officer is to improve donor participation percentages among various University constituencies and instill a pattern of annual giving. Primary responsibilities of the position are outlined below.

 

1. With supervision from the Director of Engagement, support all aspects of the annual fund, including direct mail, faculty/staff campaign, parent giving, web-based giving, Tel Alumni and student philanthropy.

 

2. Develop strategies and approaches in cooperation with the Director of Engagement for comprehensive outreach through social media/emerging technologies, including appeals, themes and segmentation for various constituencies.

 

3. Coordinate student philanthropy including oversight of the Student Philanthropy Council and implementation of events such as Tag Day and student giving campaigns.

 

4. Analyze effectiveness of solicitation efforts in order to provide input and perspective to the Director of Engagement in developing short and long range operating plans for the annual fund, including dollar and participation goals, in support of the advancement plan for the University.

 

5. Coordinate and promote donor cultivation events, including the President’s Section during home football games, Lyceum special events and the Friends of the Art Gallery.

 

6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engagement.

Minimum required qualifications: Bachelor's degree; excellent written, presentation and interpersonal skills; computer proficiency; the ability to work with a diverse University community, including students, Deans and faculty; and the flexibility to work nights and weekends. Applicants must have a demonstrated enthusiasm for, and commitment to the advancement of the mission of the University.

Preferred qualifications: Self-motivated with the ability to identify areas of improvement.  One to two years previous experience in related fields, such as: higher education, fund raising, non-profit, sales, alumni/volunteer relations, public relations or equivalent transferable skills.
