The School of Health Sciences and Education Department of Health & Exercise Sciences invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, renewable position in Health Science. The appointment will be at the Instructor level.  Renewals will be based upon performance, departmental needs, and funding.

Position Start Date: August, 2020.

Responsibilities: The person in this position will provide classroom instruction in the health science curriculum. This individual will also fulfill academic duties including academic advising and providing service to the University and community.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned master’s in Health Science or related area
  • Professional certification (candidate must be CHES-eligible, CHES or MCHES preferred)
  • Teaching effectiveness or the potential for teaching effectiveness
  • Evidence of commitment to liberal arts education as a teacher-scholar
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous successful college/university teaching experience
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for encouraging or mentoring students in transformative learning experiences such as service learning and internships
  • Compatibility with department needs
  • The development and facilitation of interdisciplinary learning experiences
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for scholarly activity beyond the thesis or dissertation
