Responsibilities

Residence Hall Directors provide leadership and oversight for on-campus residential areas of approximately 300 to 600 students.  Duties include management of in-hall student resources; supervising and coordinating hall personnel including community advisors, student advisors, hall office, hall desk, and night monitor staff; implementing a residential curriculum; administering judicial cases; responding to emergency situations while serving in an on-duty rotation; promoting strong relationships among hall residents, staff and other University constituencies; supporting staff development; promoting student learning and development in all job responsibilities; and other duties as assigned.  This position is scheduled to begin during the Spring 2020 semester.

 

Qualifications

Required qualifications include an earned Bachelor’s degree; residence hall and/or student leadership/services experience; demonstrated communication skills; the ability to work well with diverse populations and personalities; and a commitment to student learning and development.

 

Preferred qualifications include an earned Master's degree; experience as a team player; experience as a team builder; mediation or other interpersonal communication experience; presentation skills; and/or demonstrated leadership/supervisory success.
