Truman State University, Kirksville, MO invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Anatomy.

Position Open: August, 2021.

Responsibilities: The person in this position will provide classroom instruction in human anatomy, anatomy & physiology, pathophysiology, and introductory genetics at the undergraduate level. This individual will also fulfill academic duties including conducting research appropriate to the teacher-scholar model, academic advising, mentoring of student research and other co-curricular experiences, and provide service to the University and community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in biology, exercise science, or similar area (DPT, OTD, and related degrees included). Applicants who are ABD also considered;
  • Teaching effectiveness or the potential for teaching effectiveness in Anatomy and other related areas;
  • Experience or willingness to teach human anatomy;
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity, or the potential to be a productive scholar;
  • Evidence of commitment to liberal arts education as a teacher-scholar;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Missouri athletic training licensure eligibility;
  • Previous successful college/university teaching experience;
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for mentoring undergraduate  research;
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students;
  • Evidence or demonstrated potential for scholarly activity beyond the thesis or dissertation.
