FUNCTION OF THE JOB

Reports directly to the Residence Facilities Supervisor and is responsible for cleaning, hauling trash and recycling, changing light bulbs and other tasks within the assigned areas. In the summer, responsibilities include cleaning student rooms in all residential buildings.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Clean lounges, corridors, offices, restrooms, entrances and stairs of residential buildings.
  2. Floor and fixture care, window and door cleaning, trash removal, changing light bulbs and other minor maintenance.
  3. Check and fill soap, towel and toilet paper dispensers in public restrooms.
  4. Haul trash from inside buildings to outdoor dumpsters.
  5. Haul recycling bins from collection areas to pick-up locations.
  6. Follow prescribed procedures for disposal of fluorescent and HID light bulbs.
  7. Request supplies as needed.
  8. Maintain orderly storage of supplies, tools and equipment.
  9. Special event set-up in residential buildings.
  10. Oversight of student workers.
  11. Assume all other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Must have the ability to read and understand product instructions and safety precautions.
  2. Must have the ability to lift 50-lbs.
  3. Must have the ability to climb and work from step-ladders.
  4. Must have the ability to use equipment such as mops, brooms, vacuums, extractors, floor buffers, etc.
  5. Must have the ability to move heavy room and lounge furniture.
  6. Must have the ability to understand and follow directions given by the supervisor.
  7. Must have the ability to work other shifts as required such as weekend events and night time emergency calls.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Work history showing dependability and strong work ethic required. Prior Housekeeping experience preferred.
