Office Assistant II (Reduced Schedule/Benefits Eligible), Health and Exercise Sciences

This position performs responsible secretarial and administrative duties for the Chair of the Health and Exercise Sciences Department.  They provide support for four distinct academic programs (B.S. in Exercise Science, B.S. in Health Science, Master of Athletic Training, MAE in Physical Education) with over 500 student majors and 20 faculty members (full and part time).  This is a reduced schedule (32 hours per week), benefits eligible position.

Responsibilities of the Position Include:

Assist with department course scheduling; assist with planning department functions; hire, train and supervise student workers in the office; assist with planning faculty searches; edit and maintain department website; schedule facility spaces; coordinate and assist with special events; handle department communications; organize academic materials each semester; order, organize and maintain office supplies and equipment; prepare and distribute course-related materials as needed; maintain expense records for equipment and faculty reimbursements; process change of major and advising requests; and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum required qualifications include high school diploma or GED; must have good interpersonal and human relations skills; must have good organizational skills; must have proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel & Outlook); and must be able to operate basic office equipment.

Preferred qualifications include Bachelor's degree or some college and 1-2 years of secretarial or administrative experience.
