Head Volleyball Coach, Athletics

This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for leadership in all phases of the women’s volleyball program.


The following primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and administering the volleyball program
  • Recruiting prospective student-athletes that promote the University’s commitment to academic and athletic excellence
  • Administering volleyball grant-in-aid  program
  • Promoting student-athletes personal development on the court, in the classroom, and in the campus community.
  • Conducting in-season practice and game planning; out of season conditioning
  • Complying with all NCAA, GLVC, and University rules and regulations
  • Managing program operations budget including scheduling, equipment, travel, recruiting, fundraising, camps, etc…
  • Supervising assistant coach
  • Representing the program internally and externally including, but not limited to: admissions, faculty/staff, alumni, community, and media


Required qualifications include:

  • bachelor’s degree;
  • demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • minimum three (3) years volleyball coaching experience;
  • understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in a highly selective academic environment
  • knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules;
  • commitment to academic success and student-athlete well being 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • master’s degree;
  • collegiate volleyball coaching and/or playing experience in a successful program
  • recruiting experience in Missouri and surrounding states
