Certification Officer/Assessment Coordinator, Education

Ensures that all MAE students meet certification requirements for DESE, coordinates assessment data for accrediting and national recognition bodies.

Duties:

Responsibilities include certification paperwork and requests for MAE graduates (including all current and new programs), certification of Counseling graduates and other potential certification programs in the School of Health Sciences and Education, working with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regarding all program changes, collecting assessment data, writing annual reports toward accreditation and national recognition, collaborating with campus advisors and/or faculty regarding the MAE requirements, reviewing course catalog, updating and maintaining curriculum matrices, maintaining a list of where our graduates get employment and their contact information, reviewing graduate applications, analyzing data, managing databases (graduation requirements, content test results, MEES scores, GPAs, add-on certs, first-year principal/teacher studies, and other data for national recognition), presenting data to faculty, maintaining program compliance with state/federal authorizations and reciprocity regulations, attending MACTE and other state certification meetings, serving on Truman’s Assessment Committee, supervising GTRAs and/or MAE student workers, providing predictive data for enrollment in certain MAE courses, and other duties as assigned. The position may include teaching a course and/or internship supervision. This position reports to the Department Chair of Education and is a 12 month full-time position with benefits.

Education and Experience:

  • Required
    • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently
    • Must be detail oriented
  • Preferred 
    • Master’s degree
    • Assessment and data collection, analysis, and dissemination experience
    • Teacher certification experience
    • Compliance experience
    • Accreditation and/or national recognition experience
    • Teaching experience
