Responsibilities

Frontline receptionist and provides direct secretarial support (telephone, emails, maintain calendar, schedule meetings, maintain files) for both the General Counsel and Vice President for Enrollment Management and Marketing.  The individual is responsible for projects (research, writing, editing) as requested; serves as secretary and prepares minutes of committees supported by both General Counsel and VPEMM; tracks office spending, prepares purchase orders, travel reports, travel arrangements and general budget tracking; prepares correspondence; and other duties as assigned. 

This position must maintain professionalism and confidentiality and will provide backup to the President’s Office with welcoming visitors; monitoring telephones, and various other clerical/administrative duties as needed.  Assisting with occasional weekend and evening events may also be required. 

Minimum Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired. Strong record of professionalism in prior work experience that includes but is not limited to the ability to maintain confidentiality and to handle difficult interpersonal situations. Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software (i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel); excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; excellent written communication skills, ability to work independently, maintain a professional and positive attitude; must be detail oriented with proven organizational skills.  

Preferred Qualifications

College coursework or an associate’s degree, a minimum of two years of responsible secretarial/office experience in a higher education setting, supervisory experience; proficiency in student information systems (Banner), event scheduling software (EMS), and experience in budget management. Candidates should possess a strong interest in student learning and development.
