The Assistant Director of Transfer Admission serves as a lead over transfer admissions and the articulation process with partnering institutions. The Assistant Director of Transfer Admission will assist the Director in executing transfer student recruitment strategies and work with stakeholder across campus to actively innovate and improve the transfer admission process. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking an innovative position. Duties include:

  • Serve on the Admission Leadership Team
  • Supervise the Transfer Admission Counselor and all transfer-related recruitment, file-reading, and enrollment duties
  • Assist the Transfer Admission Counselor in recruiting and serving transfer student needs, including site visits, credit evaluations, meeting with prospective students, and application review
  • Collaborate with the Director of Admission on executing the transfer student recruitment plan, ensuring enrollment goals are met
  • Assist the Director of Admission in assessment of current transfer policy and procedures and provide recommendations based on current research and best practices 
  • Partner with the Registrar’s Office, Academic department chairs, and community colleges in the proposal, development review, and assessment of articulation agreements
  • Lead orientation and transition programming for new transfer students championing best practices for student success
  • Partner with the with the Marketing and Communications team in development of transfer-specific marketing efforts
  • Oversee the TruMacc and Gateway programs
  • Assist the Director of Admission in ensuring compliance with the Missouri State Guidelines for Student Transfer and Articulation with Missouri Higher Education Institutions.
  • Participate in all on-campus recruitment events, such as Showcase, Accepted Student’s Day, New Student Orientation, and others
  • Serve as a backup for all other student groups served by the admission office (New First Time and Graduate)
  • Assist with campus tours and visits as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 3-5 years in recruitment, academic advising, or workforce development in a higher education setting
  • Previous experience in working with transfer students a plus
  • Previous experience with a customer relations manager (Slate, Salesforce, etc.) a plus
  • Previous experience with Ellucian Banner or similar system a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours during busy times during the year
  • Occasional regional and overnight travel is to be expected.
