Responsibilities of the Position Include:

Secretarial and administrative duties including: assisting office visitors; updating the departmental websites; preparing letters, memoranda, conference programs, and other routine documents; assisting in room reservations and course scheduling; and maintenance of departmental files.

Supervisory duties including: assisting in training, assigning, and supervising University student employees.

Purchasing and receiving duties for research and technology supplies including: arranging for travel and expense reimbursement, getting quotes, creating purchase requisitions and assisting with maintenance and renewal of technology contracts.

As well as other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications (education, skills, experience, other):

High School diploma or equivalent; demonstrated proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel); excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to manage large projects independently, maintain a high level of confidentiality, maintain a professional and positive attitude; and must be detail-oriented with proven organizational skills.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree, two years of responsible secretarial experience; supervisory experience; proficiency in web design;  proficiency in database software; and experience in budget management.
