Position Summary

The Office of International Education at Truman State University seeks a motivated and organized International Admission Coordinator to assist in the development and implementation of admission processes that foster international student enrollment. This position helps facilitate the university’s mission to recruit, support and retain a diverse student body.

This position reports to the Executive Director of International Education

The successful candidate is expected to perform the following duties:

Admissions Processing:

  • Organize and carry out the expedient and efficient processing of international applications
  • Utilize the university’s recruitment and admission software program (CRM) and work to develop additional processes and functions within the CRM
  • Manage the enrollment process for new international students
  • Create reports as needed for recruitment planning and admission tracking
  • Work with other professional staff members to develop communication plans for prospective students in general and for specific countries/regions of the world 
  • Oversee the development and updating of admissions and recruitment content including email communication campaigns, digital marketing, webpages and social media


International Student Admissions

  • Communicate with prospective international applicants
  • Verify and analyze international application credentials
  • Admit qualified undergraduates and pre-screen and recommend graduate applications to academic departments
  • Serve as Designated School Official for F-1 international student program
  • Serve as Alternate Responsible Officer for J-1 Exchange visitor program
  • Access the federal SEVIS database to create student records and documents for student visa processing and update the SEVIS database as needed in conjunction with the International Student Advisor
  • Participate in the management of student worker teams

  • Experience with electronic communications and social media
  • Potential to utilize and further develop processes within the university’s recruitment and admission software program (CRM)
  • Experience or familiarity with digital marketing, data management and social media preferred


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident and must be able to pass a background check

Programs: The Office of International Education encompasses the Center for International Students and the Center for International Education Abroad. The Center for International Students Education functions as both the international recruitment and admissions office and the center for international student advising and support. The Center for International Education Abroad facilitates short-term and semester study abroad experiences for Truman students. Both offices are located on the first floor of Truman’s historic Baldwin Hall, along with the University’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion, a prayer room, and other intercultural-themed educational spaces.
