Head Softball Coach, Athletics

This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for leadership in all phases of the women’s softball program.

Responsibilities:

The following primary responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and administering the softball program
  • Recruiting prospective student-athletes that promote the University’s commitment to academic and athletic excellence
  • Administering softball grant-in-aid program
  • Promoting student-athletes' personal development on the field, in the classroom, and in the campus community
  • Conducting in-season practice and game planning; out of season conditioning
  • Providing for full compliance with NCAA, GLVC, and University rules and regulations
  • Managing program operations budget -- including equipment, travel, recruiting, fundraising, camps, etc. -- and supervising full-time assistant coach
  • Representing the program internally and externally including, but not limited to: admission, faculty/staff, alumni, community, and media.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Minimum two (2) years softball collegiate coaching and recruiting experience;
  • Understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in a highly-selective academic environment;
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA rules;
  • Commitment to academic success and student-athlete well-being. 

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree;
  • NCAA Division II coaching experience and/or collegiate softball playing experience;
  • Collegiate softball coaching experience in a successful program;
  • Recruiting experience in Missouri and surrounding states.
